Thermal Magnetic Circuit Breakers Products

Siemens Thermal Magnetic Breakers provide three primary functions: 1) on-off switching, 2) over-current protection, and 3) short-circuit protection.  The over-current protection is provided by a thermal trip element within the breaker.  The short-circuit protection is provided by a magnetic trip element within the breaker.   For easy review of the common types of thermal magnetic breakers, the products are divided into four categories: Type QP, Type QT, Type QD and Main Breakers.

 

Type QP 1" Circuit Breakers

Siemens QP breakers provide easy plug-in connections in Siemens enclosures and the time saving Insta-Wire feature.   Siemens offers three AIC ratings for these breakers: QP @ 10K AIC, QPH @ 22K AIC, and HQP @ 65 K AIC.  There are also 4 available constructions to choose from:

 

Type QD 3/4” Cirucuit Breakers

Siemens QD breakers are a UL listed breaker which utilize the 3/4" format.  All QD breakers have 10K AIC rating.  Two QD options are available:

 
 

Type QT Duplex Circuit Breakers

Siemens QT breakers provide space savings inside the enclosure by delivering two 1/2" breakers in 1" of space.  These breakers also have plug-in connections in Siemens enclosures There are 3 available constructions to choose from:

 

Main Circuit Breakers

 Siemens offers several plug-in and bolt-on circuit breakers suitable for use as a main breaker in Siemens load centers, meter combos, and metering products.
