WinPM 5.0 is Windows®-based power management and control software for managing electrical distribution systems. Engineers, accountants, executives, and technicians can use the software to access an almost limitless stream of electrical data-for troubleshooting, early warning alarms, power quality studies, preventive maintenance, cost allocation, and facilities planning. WinPM 5.0 adds a new dimension to managing energy-intensive facilities, allowing identification and correction of potential problems before they cause damage, waste, injury, or downtime.
WinPM 5.0 offers these valuable benefits:
Cost Effective
Reduces costly downtime by identifying system problems well in advance of tripping and equipment shutdown.
Allows you to identify the major consumers of power in your facility. You can use this information to reduce peak power demand, control power usage, and negotiate favorable utility rates-all of which save you money!
Tells you exactly how much power is used and by which equipment, allowing you to properly allocate your energy costs based on actual usage rather than on inaccurate usage predictors, such as head count or square footage.
Identifies areas of excess power capacity in your factory.
Knowing about these hidden "gold mines" of power helps you expand your facilities more effectively.
Provides detailed information about the quality of the power that serves your equipment. You can learn about any harmful harmonics and disturbances (surges and sags), which can damage equipment and result in the need for more frequent equipment replacement. WinPM 5.0 Features WinPM 5.0 offers you features for . . . Monitoring Analysis, Device Configuration, Device Control, Data Exchange, System Security, Monitoring, View summary electrical data in real time for your entire electrical system superimposed on a one-line drawing of your electrical system. You can choose which electrical data to display and how the data are presented. However you choose, electrical data are available for your viewing in one convenient location-your computer screen.
View detailed and min/max electrical data from any communicating electrical device in your system, such as power meters, relays, and trip units-all at the click of your mouse.
View a trip log that displays detailed information about each trip occurrence: trip type, time of trip, and electrical data at the time of trip.
Set up alarms that trigger if a specific device voltage or current is exceeded. You can choose how an alarm alerts you, whether by a pop-up message on your computer screen, an audible alarm in your facility, a pager message, an output to a device, or any combination of these.
Set up and view data snapshots that record a trend of device data over a specified time interval.
View a log of system events, which includes a record of user logins and logoffs, active alarms, and alarm acknowledgements.Panel-mounted platform with many features of portable instrumentation.
Analysis
Capture and record voltage or current waveforms to analyze the quality of the power that serves your equipment. You can use waveforms to learn about any disturbances, such as surges and sags, and to determine if the power serving your equipment contains harmonics, which are harmful to some equipment
Device Configuration
Remotely configure ACCESS devices by specifying internal settings, protective settings, and setpoints. You can also configure certain types of devices to record waveforms or capture a snapshot of device data.
Device Control
Data Exchange
Retrieve and display electrical data in real time from DDE-compliant, non-ACCESS devices
Link WinPM device data in real time to other DDE-compliant software applications, such as Microsoft® Excel®
Letrieve data from other manufacturer's devices, such as GE-Multilin and Square-D
