The Siemens Communicating Overcurrent Relay (SCOR) is a microprocessor-based, time-overcurrent relay designed for easy incorporation into a computer-monitored power system. The relay is a utility-grade relay in a draw-out case with built-in test facilities. It is available in a number of styles and supplies the following types of protection:
Single phase
Two phase with ground
Three phase
Three phase with ground
The relay accepts an optional plug-in communications board that interfaces with the Siemens Power Monitor and the Siemens ACCESS system. When fully implemented, the communications interface allows you to
Monitor real-time system and circuit breaker information
Transmit event and historical data
Remotely configure its operating parameters
Application
You can use SCOR for the protection of medium-voltage electrical power systems. The relay can monitor the outputs of standard (5A secondary) current transformers and close an output contact for tripping a circuit breaker. Several AC and DC voltage options are available for providing the control power that the relay requires for its operation.
