SIMOTION Software
Engineering Software - Test and Diagnostics
Integrated trace functionality and function generator
Test of the program timing, the axis movements ....
Comprehensive zoom and measuring functions available
A range of diagnostic tools are built into SCOUT to make testing and commissioning of SIMOTION applications as easy as possible:
Task status, system load, and memory utilization can be displayed
The diagnostics buffer is used to record an error log
All SIMOTION system variables, user variables, and I/O variables can be monitored
All programming errors are displayed with location and cause during compilation
The status display for programs assists the user when commissioning software
Important variables can be grouped and visualized by means of watch tables
For commissioning, axes can be traversed and optimized by means of an axis machine control panel directly
The most powerful tool for testing and commissioning is the Trace function built into SCOUT. Every SIMOTION device contains a trace buffer that can be configured. If the trace has been started, the configured data are recorded and shown in the trace screen. Following features are supported.
Trigger condition (for example, rising edge of a definable signal)
Recording quality (a multiple of the SIMOTION device basic clock cycle)
Recording duration (one shot, endless, ring buffer)
To permit evaluation, the recorded data are displayed as a time curve
Curves can be displayed in various colors and selected and deselected as required
The zoom function can be used for closer examination
Signal level and duration can be measuring cursors
Changes can be visualized by visualized by superimposing measuring curves from different trace records
The curves can, of course, be saved or printed
