SIMOTION C230-2 is the controller-based Motion Control platform in the module SIMATIC S7-300 mounting technology and offers the following features.
Communication - 2 PROFIBUS 12 Mbit/s, 1 Ethernet 100- Mbit/s
Onboard Interfaces - 4 Analog drives, 4 Stepper drives, 4 Encoder inputs (TTL, SSI), 18 Digital Inputs, 4 Digital Outputs
Local Periphery - SIMATIC S7-300 SM (DI/DO, AI/AO)
Remote Periphery - SIMATIC ET 200M/S/X and all PROFIBUS standard slaves (DPV01/V1)
Drives Coupling - Analog (Onboard interface) or via isochronous PROFIBUS
Number of axes - up to 16
Runtime functionality - SIMOTION Runtime Software

The C230 includes all software for Motion Control, technological functions, and Logic Control for the entire machine application. Local Periphery can be adapted directly to the C230, remote Periphery and digital drives are connected via PROFIBUS as well as HMI.
On board Ethernet can be also used for Engineering, HMI and connection to a network.
