SINAMICS G150 is an enclosed air-cooled variable speed drive ideal for all applications that do not require regeneration back into the power supply system. This very compact and quiet drive includes an AC/AC power module with state-of-the-art IGBT power semiconductors and an innovative cooling concept, providing low loss operation for the highest energy efficiency. As standard, the unit also contains a controller (CU320) with PROFIBUS port, an advanced operator panel (AOP30) and a terminal module (TM31) for digital and analog inputs and outputs. Standard interfaces guarantee quick integration into the plant and process control scheme, and easy start-up and operation.
SINAMICS G150 is available is available in various versions covering a broad range of voltages and power ratings, with a wide variety of standard options to configure it to meet industry and site specific needs. It is ideal for applications that involve moving, conveying, pumping or compressing solids, liquids or gases. In particular, this includes variable torque applications such as pumps, fans, blowers, and compressors, as well as constant torque applications such as mixers, extruders and mills.
The control can be operated in either sensorless vector or Volts/Hertz modes. Closed loop vector control can be implemented as well with the addition of the optional encoder interface board.
The user-friendly AOP30 operator panel with graphical LCD and plain-text display provides easy commissioning and parameterization using interactive menus, and alarm and fault logs.
SINAMICS G150 is offered in accordance with IEC or North American/NEMA standards. In both instances it is offered in two versions:
• Version A is an enclosed, ready to connect and run drive that includes a broad range of standard or optional components such as disconnect switch or circuit breaker, input line reactor, contactors and a range of control and auxiliary equipment.
• Version C is a very compact basic “drive in a box” or enclosed chassis, where most line side and motor side components need to be provided externally, such as in a motor control center (MCC).

All versions/designs of SINAMICS G150 of a particular rating (IEC or NEMA, version A or C) use identical drive electronics components – power module, CU320 controller and CompactFlash card, door mounted AOP30 operator panel and TM31 I/O module. Differences between the versions are found in the enclosure type and the power distribution/circuit components, as well as in the configuration of base units, i.e. the scope of auxiliary equipment included and excluded, and the range of available standard and custom options.

The IEC version is offered in North America for customers that intend to export to other parts of the world. The IEC version is not suitable for installation in North America as it does not comply with NEC/CEC requirements.
