Siemens builds upon the Robicon legacy of more than 20 years of quality and expertise in the water and wastewater market with the W Series of low voltage drives developed specifically for the municipal water and wastewater market in the U.S.
W Series variable frequency drives are built on Robicon field-proven expertise that has reliably served the drive needs of water and wastewater utilities for more than two decades, representing the largest installed base among all drives currently in service within the industry. And with the integration of our SINAMICS technology and features backed by Siemens total solution and system capabilities, the best has become even better.
Each W Series drive is custom-configured to meet the particular requirements of each project, based on a broad range of base units, both clean power and standard front ends, and an extensive selection of standard and custom options.
The Robicon W Series drives range includes the following models, all 460V, 3 ph. 60 Hz: W Series with standard front ends: W120 - 1 to 125 HP, 6-pulse wall mount 1 – 60 HP floor standing 75 – 125 HP
W150 - 150 to 800 HP, 6-pulse floor standing W Series Clean Power: W120CP - 50 to 125 HP, 18-pulse clean power with phase-shifting Autotransformer floor standing W150CP - 150 to 800 HP, 18-pulse clean power 18-p Clean Line Module (CLM) with phase-shifting Autotransformer floor standing
Clean Power Drives: W120CP and W150CP IEEE sets minimum harmonic distortion limits for voltage and current. With the W Series Clean Power unit's multi-pulse, phase-shifting design, the Clean Power models more than meet distortion limits for the 5th, 7th, 11th and 13th harmonics in accordance with Table 10.3 of IEEE 519-1992.

Benefits include:
• Elimination of external power factor correction devices and their associated costs
• No on-line harmonic disturbances
• Elimination of cross-talk with other VFDs
• Avoidance of utility penalties for poor power factor
• Avoidance of overloading feeders, breakers and transformers with reactive power
• Improved voltage regulation
