24 VDC Power Security Equipment
The signaling module |
The signaling module is used for optimal integration of the power supply into the automation system. An external controller evaluates the status of the signal contacts for "output voltage o.k." and "operating readiness o.k." , thus preventing potential damage to sensitive processes. In addition, the power supply can be switched on/off remotely via a dedicated input on the signaling unit. Installation could not be any easier: Just connect the signaling module to the basic device and fasten the screw. Each basic unit already provides a comprehensive, multi functional solution on its own. However, as more functionality is required, the modular concept allows growing the installation from the basic unit into a complete power security solution.

The buffer module |
Since the U.S. electricity market has been deregulated, quality of electrical power is not always reliable and often dips below acceptable standards. This can cause interruptions in the millisecond range with potentially severe consequences on the 24 VDC side, if there is no backup. The buffer module provides current backup for up to 3 seconds. Machines and systems continue to operate reliably without interruption despite a power failure. Connection to the basic model via DIN rail and just two cables make installation easy.

The 24 VDC UPS |
The 24 VDC-UPS module is the optimal expansion to all SITOP power 24 VDC power supplies, since the majority of industrial applications cannot afford long power failures. Load currents of up to 40 A are maintained via externally connected storage batteries. The transition from the AC power line to the buffer operation is entirely uninterrupted. Protection and monitoring functions are integrated as standard functions of the DC-UPS module, in order to protect your processes.

The redundancy module |
When your application cannot under any circumstance tolerate a 24 V power failure, the redundancy module provides additional security. Using diodes, the add-on module disconnects two parallel basic power devices, protecting against worst-case scenarios. Should one defective power supply affect another working power pack, the redundancy module guards against total loss of power. Failure of a single defective power supply no longer compromises safe and uninterrupted supply of 24 Volt power to your application.

The electronic diagnosis module |
The SITOP select electronic diagnosis module is the optimal addition to all 24 V power supplies. It distributes and monitors the load current over several current circuits. Overloads and short circuits are reliably recognized and selectively switched off. Detailed signaling permits quick error localization - and minimization of down time. Since the other circuits continue to be powered with 24 V, total plant failures are avoided. One DIN rail module monitors up to 4 load circuits which can be set individually for monitoring currents between 2 and 10 A.
