Startup, operation - System diagnostics with STEP7
    • Overview diagnostics in Hardware Configuration
          o Controller topology is graphically displayed in a window
          o Comparison of the existing configuration with the defined configuration
          o Deviations indicate configuring errors, installation faults, or also hardware faults
          o Display of the module status in this window without changing to other tools
          o Inputs/outputs can be directly monitored and controlled from the topology view
          o DP slave diagnostics extends down to channel-specific indication of a fault -
             module slot, channel number and cause of the fault in alphanumeric text.

          o All system and application-defined events are entered with a time stamp.

    • Visualization - using "Signal system faults" with STEP7 or diagnostics package FB125 during plant operation,
       to display any faults immediately to permit elimination as rapidly as possible
          o Message displaying diagnostics are configured, without programming
          o The contents and design of a fault message can be set as required using a parameter input form. The
             fault texts are extracted from the GSD file.
          o STEP 7 automatically generates all required blocks to display the fault on connected HMI devices
          o Fault texts and all relevant diagnostics data are automatically imported during generation of the HMI data
          o With HMI diagnostic information is displayed as plaintext with time stamp
