ATLANTA — Siemens Energy & Automation’s Airport Logistics Division, today announced it was awarded a $12 million contract from Hensel Phelps to expand the in-line screening system at the Orlando International Airport.
Siemens will provide 5,000 feet of baggage handling conveyor, 18 patented high-speed diverters and sort-matrices for 10 Explosive Detection Systems (EDS). This system is designed to make check-in easier for passengers and to free-up space in the terminal. It is expected to be completed in May 2007.

The Orlando International Airport served more than 34 million passengers in 2005 with non-stop service to 84 U.S. destinations and 17 International destinations. It is the fourth largest airport in the nation for domestic origination and destination.
