ATLANTA -- Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. today announced the official product launch of TACTICS, Siemens next generation, transportation system suite. TACTICS will debut at the 2007 ITS America Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Palm Springs, Calif., June 4-6.
TACTICS is a suite of products that combines all of the features of previous Siemens’ transportation systems into an enhanced and streamlined product line that ranges from a PDA upload/download device to the most complete transportation management system currently available. The entire family of products works together to provide a platform for traffic control, web services, regional interface, freeway management, parking guidance and tunnel applications.
“Power, reliability and flexibility are three essential criteria for any traffic control software,” said Mark Hudgins, director of Siemens ITS' Product Life Cycle Management Group. “TACTICS ensures power and reliability with its NTCIP standard, proven product base (ACTRA, MARCnx, i2, SCOOT), diagnostic capabilities and PC-platform, while its NTCIP support, modularity, scalability and customized maps and reports, meet the customers’ need for flexibility.”
Core features of TACTICS include advanced graphics, standard and custom reporting options, engineering tools, and a rich array of control options including adaptive traffic control, response management, lane control and ITSA device control and management.
The new suite of products provides unparalleled communication capabilities, from once-per-second communication to all intersections independent of system size, to communications options for third party controllers, to enhanced NTCIP support.
With TACTICS, Siemens brings together countless options and features in one suite of products, allowing Siemens to once more offer a total-solution from signals to controllers to systems. TACTICS gives customers a greater choice in what equipment to use, thereby offering cost savings to meet any budget.
The current suite of products includes:
TACTICS Central – Advanced central traffic control software.
TACTICS Marc – Closed-loop system for cost-effective traffic solutions.
TACTICS View – Standalone upload and download laptop utility designed for contractors, consultants, and support personnel.
