Siemens Staehle To Address Food Safety
ATLANTA -- Walter Staehle, director of Industry Management, Food & Beverage, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc., will present “Traceability: Farm to Fork” during the World Wide Food Expo 07.
Scheduled for 8:45 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, and 9:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 26, at McCormick Place in Chicago, the presentation will focus on how Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) build, protect and advance food brand equity.
Staehle will also review the tracking, tracing and genealogy functions of Siemens SIMATIC IT MES that enable food manufacturers to comply with regulations by capturing and storing real-time process and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Plans (HACCP) information for analysis and reporting.
Prior to joining Siemens in January 2005, Staehle served as an executive with Kraft Foods for more than 24 years. Most recently he was Director, MES and Shop Floor Systems at Kraft. He has authored numerous articles on systems for operations management and has received multiple industry awards.
Staehle holds a B.A. in Economics from Muhlenberg College, a M.A. in Business Management from Central Michigan University. He completed post-graduate work in Operations Management, Manufacturing Strategy for Competitive Advantage, and Integrated Supply Chain Management at Stanford University.
