ATLANTA — Landis & Gyr, a fully owned subsidiary of Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. today announced the introduction of its new Landis & Gyr PAK metering equipment for utilities that require a lever bypass to service multiple meters in residential and commercial development projects. The unique lever bypass allows ease of maintenance and the utmost operator safety. Additionally, the PAK meter provides an all-in-one solution for applications needing from 2-6 meter positions, the new units feature a smaller, more compact design and lighter enclosures making it easier to install while using less wall space.
“Siemens is committed to developing innovative products that simplify power monitoring for our customers,” said Kevin Shumate, Product Marketing Manager. “The new line of PAK metering is a testament to this commitment, designed for safety, functionality, maximum flexibility and ease of installation.”
Installation of the new PAK metering is made faster and easier with the new Siemens exclusive angled circuit breaker mounting and floating deadfront, which eliminates the need for cover alignment of the breaker. Designed with the contractor in mind, the units feature side mounted handles that make it easier to lift and hanging brackets to suspend the unit during installation. The new units also have a mounting rail and generous wiring space.
Landis & Gyr will offer a full line of 2-6 position devices with provisions for one, two or three incoming conductors per phase and neutral. Additionally, an “In line” (column) construction is available for 2-4 and 5-6 position devices.
With 225 amp tenants breakers, the new PAK metering is 100K AIC rated. It meets the service requirements of multiple surface or semi-flush metering applications.
