Sales Development Program (SDP)
The Siemens Sales Development Program (SDP) is designed to recruit, train, and develop those individuals who will be the key future technology and Sales Engineering leaders of SE&A. During his or her first rotation, each candidate will have the opportunity to experience both Industrial and Construction sales. Through this experience, the candidate will be able to determine what sales specialization to focus on during the remainder of the program, in conjunction with business need.
The Sales Development Program (SDP) consists of four six-month rotational assignments over the course of two years. These assignments are focused on offering participants exposure to solid Siemens business & product knowledge along with the tools and skills to assess customer needs and deliver valuable solutions. SDP is a great opportunity to combine one's technical background and interpersonal skills for an exciting career in technical sales.
Rotation Information
Inside Sales - Receive product, application, and sales skills training; Fine tune your Customer Service skills doing general account coverage; Get exposure to Project Managers, Sales Engineers, & Distributors; Discover whether Industrial or Construction products are a better fit for you and receive focused product training.
Business Units - Rotate through applicable Business Units for Industrial or Construction to gain detailed product exposure and understand how Siemens goes to market; Take part in a one month market blitz to benefit your Business Units and test your Sales Skills.
Distribution - Enhance your leadership skills by helping start-up a new Distributor; Involvement to include infrastructure planning, providing training on applications and products, Project Management, Targeted Account Planning, Promotional Programs, and new Account Development.
Distribution & Outside Sales - Make an impact on Siemens' bottom line by driving business with your 3rd Rotation Distributor; Take part in Account Development and continue to refine Channel Investment Programs as you develop into a Sales Engineer.
Candidate Criteria
Major - Industrial Distribution, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum GPA - 3.0/4.0
Relocation - Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate every six months during their two-year program as needed. Virtually all SE&A locations may be considered for possible rotation locations.
