In today’s business world, more than technical knowledge is needed to be successful. Non-Technical skills training and networking expertise are equally important in the development of great employees.
Siemens Energy & Automation invests in the development of its future leaders by providing training for the ever-changing skills necessary to thrive in the business environment. One example of this for ELLDPs can be seen in an event called Leadership Week.
Leadership Week gathers all Entry Level Leadership Development Program (ELLDP) participants at SE&A’s Corporate Headquarters in Alpharetta, GA. Occurring twice a year in January and July, Leadership Week provides training and networking opportunities to ELLDPs. The training is provided both through internal resources as well as professional consulting firms who specialize in the topic at hand.
Past Training Topics
Technical Courses:
Six Sigma – taught the Six Sigma methodology of Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control-- a systematic approach Siemens uses to achieve excellence.
Achieving Finance and Controlling Excellence - taught how to exercise best practice finance and controlling topics while working at any level within Siemens.
Non-Technical Courses:
Essential Facilitation - taught techniques for successful group facilitation.
Influence Without Authority - taught how to gain buy-in from individuals over which you have no formal authority.
Performance Management of Teams - taught the skills and actions necessary to have a successful and efficient project team.
Presentation Skills - taught how to help yourself become a better and more effective speaker.
Networking Opportunities
Leadership Week is an excellent opportunity to network with Executives, Program Management, and peers in ELLDP. ELLDPs are given a great amount of time to network amongst themselves and learn more about the various aspects of SE&A. Networking occurs both during work hours and also after work hours in a social environment.
